About Amber-Helena

Official bio

Amber-Helena Reisig (Heerlen, 1992) is a Dutch-Indonesian writer and poet, with over fifteen years of experience in the performing arts, both nationally and internationally.

She holds two contracts with publishing house Prometheus, for a novel and a poetry collection, and her work has been included in many literary magazines, such as Das Mag, Meander and Hard/Hoofd, anthologies and other media. In 2013 and 2014, she was city poet of Heerlen.

She organizes literary events, such as the international Puss'Poetry in Maastricht, and was co-producer of literary theater acts for festivals such as De Parade. As a performer, she has appeared on large and small stages in the Netherlands, Belgium and Canada, such as Dichters in de Prinsentuin, Boekenbeurs Antwerpen and Manuscripta.

Amber-Helena regularly writes on behalf of government agencies, educational institutions and social, political and cultural organizations. In addition to her work as a writer, she devises creative solutions to social problems as a project manager.

Amber-Helena is currently working on the novel Het sterfhuis (The Hospice) and a collection of poetry, Alles nog te vrezen (Everything Still to Fear).
