Op 19 februari openen we om 20:15 de deuren van De Brandweerkantine voor de zesde editie van Puss’Poetry.

We hebben een aantal bijzondere dichters uitgenodigd die hun woorden laten spreken op het podium. Dit keer kun je genieten van muziek door Blue Robin en poëzie van Quincy Coulter, Maika Dooper, Emmylou Savage en Teuntje Ott.

This summer, Museum De Schat van Simpelveld will host the exhibition SISTERHOOD. It is an exhibition about six different women - sisters, artists - from six different time periods within the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Six contemporary female poets, including me, have written a poem from their perspective about the art of these women, the choices they made or didn't make and the opportunities they had or, conversely, the limitations they faced.

During the inspiration session 'A civil servant goes to the doctor' of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen for the social domain, I will act as resident poet. Based on the readings of Michelle van Tongerloo and Tim 'S Jongers and the other elements of the day, I write a live poem. As resident poet, I conclude the day with the recitation of the poem.

How do you find words for the untranslatable and how can that search enrich Dutch? Supervisors Amber-Helena Reisig and Moni Zwitserloot and participants Emine Ünal and Ahmed Radwan of the Writing Workshop, led by Marjolein Visser, will discuss how a text is created, which choices were made and why and how language acquisition leads to language enrichment.
